Apt Resources is looking for an Experienced Restaurant Captain to join the team at a trendy Western restaurant renowned for its modern European cuisine. This role is an excellent opportunity for a professional with a passion for excellent customer service and a strong background in the dining industry.

As the Restaurant Captain, you will be responsible for overseeing the front-of-house operations, ensuring that guests receive an exceptional dining experience. You will lead the service team, assist in menu planning, and take an active role in promoting the restaurant’s unique offerings. It's essential that you have a keen eye for detail, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and lead the dining service to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for guests.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise front-of-house staff; model excellent service standards.
  • Assist in crafting and updating the menu, incorporating seasonal and trendy items.
  • Engage with guests, answer inquiries, and manage feedback professionally.
  • Ensure the dining area is well-maintained and meets hygiene and safety standards.
  • Oversee reservations and seating arrangements to optimize the dining flow.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels related to service operations.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate service.
  • Prepare reports on dining service performance and financial metrics.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Restaurant Captain or in a similar role, preferably in trendy Western or European dining establishments.
  • Excellent knowledge of food and beverage service, with a strong understanding of wine pairings.
  • Outstanding leadership and team-building skills.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation with a vibrant personality.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.
  • Effective communication skills in English; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Hospitality or restaurant management degree is a plus.
