As a Merchandise Planner – APAC, you own and drive the financial plans that connect regional demand signals to inventory, margin, and receipt decisions across all the channels. You build and maintain integrated Merchandise Financial Plans that translate strategy into seasonal execution, partnering closely with Demand, Supply, Inventory, Merchandising, and Finance teams to keep plans aligned and actionable. You bring deep analytical expertise and cross-functional leadership to a fast-paced environment where your decisions directly shape how the region buys, manages, and reacts to business performance. This role carries full end-to-end ownership of the regional planning process and the influence to set the standard for planning excellence within a globally recognized outdoor brand.
This role is based out of our Tokyo office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Tokyo.

The team positions inventory effectively by channel, supports replenishment and inventory flow decisions, and drives aligned decisions that support growth, profitability, and customer experience across Demand Planning, Inventory Planning, and Allocations.

If you were in the Merchandise Planner – APAC role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
- Building and maintaining fiscal and seasonal merchandise financial plans, including sales, margin, inventory, and receipt plans by week
- Managing Open-to-Buy (OTB) and ensuring alignment with regional inventory targets throughout the season
- Running scenario analysis to identify risks and opportunities ahead of time, enabling the business to react with speed and confidence
- Partnering cross-functionally with Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Inventory Planning, Merchandising, FP&A, and Commercial teams to drive alignment between top-down and bottom-up plan builds
- Connecting demand signals to inventory and margin implications, translating financial plan outputs into clear, actionable insights for the region

- Building deeper cross-functional partnerships that connect regional merchandise planning more tightly to global supply and demand decisions
Are you our next Merchandise Planner – APAC?
- You have a bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field
- You have 3–5 years of experience in Merchandise Financial Planning, Financial Planning, or Demand Planning, with proven ownership of in sales, margin, and inventory planning at a regional scale
- You have deep expertise in top-down and bottom-up planning methodologies and a proven track record of driving alignment between both
- You have a strong understanding of retail KPIs and how merchandise financial plans connect to broader business performance
- You have advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, with the ability to build, manage, and interrogate complex planning models
- You have strong data analytics and visualization capability, with the ability to translate large data sets into clear insights and recommendations
- You have hands-on experience with advanced planning systems (e.g., o9, Anaplan, SAP IBP, or Blue Yonder)
