Human Resources (HR) Manager

Job Overview

Our client is looking for a positive, self-disciplined and adaptable individual to oversee their People Function. This role will suit someone who remains calm no matter the situation and who can always think on their feet.

Location: George, Western Cape

Reports to: Group Head of HR

Duties:

This role will require the delivery of HR plans across the business:

Talent Management:

• Work closely with the Recruitment officer, external Recruitment Consultants, HR Administrators and Line managers to ensure that the best talent is recruited, onboarded and retained in the organisation

• Writing & refining job profiles/descriptions, screening, conducting interviews and consulting on hiring decisions in collaboration with line managers

• Coordinating Psychometric and/or behavioural assessment testing

• Onboarding and offboarding of employees

• Performance management, appraisals, and development/ maintenance of succession plans

• Drive employee engagement, culture and wellbeing

Compliance:

• Ensure compliance to all acts and legal requirements/frameworks including SIZA audits

• Advise Line Management on Labour matters

• Ensure EE Plans and Reports correctly implemented

• Ensure contracts, offers, policies all up to date and meticulously maintained and applied

• Review and implement all relevant HR policies

Industrial Relations:

• Facilitate conflict resolution and promote a positive work environment

• Coaching managers and supervisors wrt performance reviews, employee discipline, counselling and wellness

• Handling all Employee related problems, grievances and counselling

• Investigating disciplinary issues, issuing Disciplinary Notices and required documentation pertaining to the outcome

• Monitoring all IR related policies and procedures and ensuring adherence to the HR Manual

• Facilitate positive Union relations and negotiations

HR Admin:

• Compiling, amending, and recommending HR policies and procedures

• Drawing up Appointment Letters, Employment Agreements, Termination Agreements and any other HR Related Agreements, SLA's, Appraisals etc.

• Preparing and compiling Annual People Budget in conjunction with Line Managers and Group Head of HR

• Compiling and updating Organograms for Department Heads and for auditing purposes

• Oversee the successful administration of the VIP SAGE People 300 HR and Performance Review system on the farm

• Updating of H&S administration on H&S Tempo online system

Requirements

• Minimum of Matric

• HR Qualification

• 5 years HR Generalist / 5 years HR/People Management experience

• Advanced MS Word & Excel

• Excellent communication skills in English AND Afrikaans are essential

• Must be able to work flexible hours as per operational requirements

• Must have a driver’s licence and own reliable transport
