Accountant

ASICS has an exciting opportunity to join our robust Finance team as an Accountant. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role will be responsible for sustainable corporate finances while managing the corporate budget on financial initiatives, performing financial reporting and providing effective advice to senior management.  
 

So, what goes into making that happen? 

• Performing end-to-end Accountant duties
• Assisting in budgetary control and costing analysis and managing the general ledger functions
• Assisting in taxation, internal audits, preparation of management reports of statutory returns
• Working closely and cooperating with external consultants (bankers and auditors)
• Assist in the provision of company secretarial functions at a more routine level
• Working on special projects such as internal control compliance, documentation project and process improvement initiatives
• Responding to requests for financial and related information from other departments within the Company
• Assisting the Accounting Manager on reporting and accounting tasks
• Performance of ad-hoc projects as required

That’s enough about us! Here’s what we hope to see from you: 

• Excellent technical skills in financial accounting
• Experience in a commercial environment (4-5 years) within the distribution industry in retail.
• High level working knowledge of SAP
• Proven strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of the team in a busy environment
• Ability to deal with confidential information in a professional manner
• High level of strong interpersonal skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationship within the department team members
• Strong communication skills in understanding and following verbal and written instructions
