We are looking for a Drilling Manager to lead our drilling operations in Gabon. As the Drilling Manager, you will oversee the drilling program's execution, ensuring it aligns with technical, safety, and operational goals while striving for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving performance and serving as a key contact for all drilling-related programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute drilling strategies, ensuring alignment with the company's exploration objectives.
- Manage drilling operations from planning through execution, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Lead and mentor the drilling team, promoting a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with engineering, geology, and production teams to optimize drilling performance and mitigate risks.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to corporate standards and safety protocols.
- Engage in technical reviews and presentations with stakeholders to discuss drilling performance and provide actionable insights.
- Review drilling programs, assist in well design, and offer innovative solutions to operational challenges.
- Ensure that all drilling activities follow the necessary HSE standards and regulations.
- Assist in the reinforcement of best practices related to drilling and completion processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field).
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in drilling operations, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Strong understanding of drilling technology, operations, and data analytics.
- Proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams and large-scale projects.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French is a plus.
- A commitment to safety and an ability to navigate complex environments and operational challenges.
