We are seeking a motivated Biodiversity Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in guiding our organisation to protect, restore, and enhance biodiversity and ecological systems. You will develop and implement sustainable practices, ensuring our projects not only mitigate environmental impacts but also contribute positively to nature.

Key responsibilities
- Provide support in the development and implementation of the Assala biodiversity & ecosystem management strategy and biodiversity offset strategy.
- Integrate biodiversity safeguards into project lifecycles from planning to execution, minimising environmental risks while maximising positive impact.
- Champion compliance & best practices by contributing to Environmental & Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) and securing critical environmental permits
- Guide biodiversity studies & risk assessments, providing data-driven insights to inform decision-making across projects.
- Advise cross-functional teams (operations, projects, HSE) on biodiversity risk management, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility.
- Curate & report biodiversity data, ensuring transparency and alignment with ESG frameworks, IFC audits, and sustainability disclosures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in an environmental field, such as environmental science, biodiversity, ecology, botany, or zoology.
- Full professional fluency in French (written and spoken).
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
- In-depth knowledge of Gabon’s environmental policies, legislation, and regulatory standards.
