Building Services Engineer (HVAC)

Your Mission:

Assystem are seeking a Building Services Engineer to work within the Approval Authority of a major Client. The Building Services Engineer will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team within the Approval Authority, the primary purpose of the role is to directly support current operations and future programmes. 

The Client team consists of Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Building Services, Electrical, Piping Engineers and are responsible for the authorship, development, assessment, and maintenance of Engineering Design Substantiation for Nuclear Facilities, ensuring Design Intent, Critical Safety Factors and Safety and Operational Requirements are met and are consistent with current good practice and legislative/regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• ✍️ Develop and maintain Nuclear Infrastructure Design Substantiation documents.

• 🔧 Manage and assess design changes and concessions.

• 🛡️ Present design substantiations to nuclear safety and Client “Due Process” committees.

• 📋 Produce and update EIMT (Examination, Inspection, Maintenance & Testing) schedules and procedures.

• 📘 Produce and review Periodic Review of Safety (PRS) reports.

• 🤝 Provide technical advice and support to internal and external stakeholders.

• 🧐 Develop scopes for Independent Technical Assessments (ITA) and Independent Peer Reviews (IPR).

• ⚙️ Apply specialist engineering expertise in nuclear/high-hazard environments.

• ✔️ Produce robust technical justifications for design modifications.

• 🔍 Review and check technical reports, safety case submissions, calculations, and engineering documents.
