Job Overview

About Us

Australian Ethical is one of Australia’s fastest-growing super fund and ethical investment managers. We are ASX-listed with over $14 billion in funds under management and offer a selection of award-winning managed funds and superannuation products.

Our purpose is to invest for a better world, and we have been pioneers in this space for almost 40 years. For us, investing has two aims – generating solid financial returns and a positive impact for people, planet, and animals. At Australian Ethical, we prove that money can be a force for good. We do this by staying true to our purpose, which is embedded throughout our organisation and drives our everyday activities as a business, investor, brand, employer, and corporate citizen. We’re a registered B Corp and fully committed to an inclusive, equitable and forward-thinking workplace culture.
Your New Role
This newly created Senior Manager Sourcing and Supplier Governance role leads the development and governance of Australian Ethical’s sourcing and service provider framework, ensuring all supplier engagements align with our values, commercial goals and APRA CPS 230. You’ll uplift end‑to‑end oversight, risk management and performance monitoring while partnering closely with stakeholders across legal, risk, operations and service provider teams.

Key responsibilities include:

Sourcing, Policy & Governance Leadership
·       Design and implement AE’s Sourcing and Service Provider Policy and Standard, including associated procedures and tools
·       Lead the identification, evaluation and selection of suppliers, including the negotiation of commercial terms
·       Continuously improve sourcing frameworks to remain scalable, practical and aligned to business needs

Service Provider Materiality & Risk Management
·       Implement effective approaches to assess, classify and rate material service providers based on risk exposure and alignment to AE’s risk profile
·       Support teams in assessing risks associated with service providers, outsourcing and offshoring arrangements
·       Ensure risk is managed in accordance with the Risk Management Framework

Lifecycle Oversight & Performance Monitoring
·       Provide assurance across the end‑to‑end lifecycle of material providers — including due diligence, periodic reviews, performance monitoring, renewals and terminations
·       Oversee compliance with contractual obligations, SLAs, KPIs and regulatory standards.
·       Maintain a centralised repository of contracts, suppliers and governance documentation

Stakeholder Management & Reporting
·       Partner with senior leaders, including COO, Legal, Trustee Office, Risk, and Service Provider Managers
·       Prepare reports for the Board, ARCC and regulators
·       Promote a culture of compliance and risk‑aware decision‑making across the organisation

About You
You’re an experienced governance, procurement or third‑party management leader who thrives in a complex, regulated environment. You pair strong commercial judgement with deep risk expertise, enabling you to shape decisions and outcomes across diverse stakeholders. With a proactive, strategic mindset, you bring confidence, clarity and structure to sourcing decisions and supplier oversight. You excel at balancing opportunity and risk, communicating complex concepts clearly, and driving continuous improvement across systems, processes and governance frameworks.

Ideally, You Bring:
·       10+ years’ experience in governance, procurement, third‑party management or business management, including at least 5 years in a leadership role
·       Experience in a regulated industry (ideally financial services) with sound knowledge of APRA CPS 230
·       Proven track record in driving commercial outcomes in multi‑vendor environments
·       Experience designing and operating supplier risk assessment and compliance monitoring methodologies
·       Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation and influencing skills
·       Highly skilled in analytical thinking, reporting and resolving complex issues
·       Alignment with Australian Ethical’s core values — authenticity, action, curiosity, connection and empathy
