As the Strategic Partnerships Director, you are the architect of AvidXchange’s expansion into the ERP ecosystem. You won't just manage relationships; you will hunt, negotiate, and close the complex, high-value integrations that define our market leadership.
In this role, you will lead the charge from initial prospecting to cultivating deep, mutually beneficial partnerships. You will own the entire lifecycle: assessing market opportunities, drafting term sheets, navigating legal contracts, and leading high-stakes negotiations. Beyond the external hunt, you will be a key internal influencer, guiding the organization on strategic investments that unlock new verticals and exceed our growth goals. This role is highly collaborative—you’ll work hand-in-hand with Demand Gen, Product, Legal, and Engineering to build the GTM playbooks that propel our long-term success.
What you’ll do:
- Own the ERP Strategy: Build and execute strategic plans for over 300 potential ERP partnerships while constantly scouting the market for new prospects.
- Lead the Hunt: Conduct proactive business development outreach, creating a pipeline of opportunities prioritized by scale and strategic impact.
- Navigate Complex Closures: Manage multifaceted negotiations over 12+ month cycles, owning everything from financial term sheets to final legal execution.
- Influence at the C-Suite: Engage routinely with senior executives, aligning their business drivers with AvidXchange’s solutions to create "mutual win" scenarios.
- Deepen Ecosystem Ties: Develop high-impact accounting and ERP relationships, growing them into productive alliances that maximize sales opportunities.
- Orchestrate GTM Growth: Partner with Marketing and Sales to develop growth plans and guide our Alliance teams on how to best engage with accounting and ERP opportunities.
What we’re looking for:
- The "Hunter" Mentality: A strong sense of urgency, a bias for action, and at least 7+ years of experience in enterprise sales, partner development, or alliance management.
- Fintech & Financial Acumen: Deep experience developing complex financial models, including net interchange share, transaction/software fees, and customer acquisition models.
- Relationship Mastery: A natural ability to build trust with C-suite decision-makers and bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven success leading business reviews and coordinating across Product, Marketing, Legal, and Onboarding teams.
- Strategic Problem Solving: Expert at interpreting business challenges and translating them into optimal process recommendations that scale.
- Persuasive Communication: Ability to present complex concepts clearly and convincingly to any audience.
- Market Expertise: Skilled at assessing channel opportunities and building strategies that expand leadership presence in the market.
- Technical Credibility: Technically capable of demonstrating AvidXchange solutions and understanding how they integrate with potential partners’ pain points.
- Educational Background: University degree or equivalent experience; an MBA is preferred.
