Position Overview:


 A Portfolio Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing a portfolio of projects, investments, or assets within an organization. The role involves strategic planning, risk management, and ensuring that the portfolio aligns with the organization’s overall objectives and delivers maximum value. A Portfolio Manager collaborates with various stakeholders, including senior management, to prioritize and optimize resources, balancing the portfolio's risks and rewards.


Key Responsibilities:

1.  Portfolio Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement portfolio strategies that align with the organization’s goals.

  • Assess and prioritize projects or investments based on potential returns, risks, and strategic importance.

  • Set measurable objectives for each portfolio component, including ROI targets, risk thresholds, and alignment with strategic goals.

  • Continuously monitor and adjust the portfolio to maximize value.

2.  Performance Management:

  • Analyze and report on the performance of the portfolio, including returns, risks, and alignment with strategic objectives.

  • Implement metrics and KPIs to measure the success of portfolio components.

  • Conduct quarterly performance reviews of portfolio components, with actionable insights and recommendations for improvement.

  • Make recommendations for reallocation of resources or adjustments to portfolio composition.

3.  Risk Management:

  • Identify, assess, and manage risks associated with the portfolio.

  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.

  •  Maintain a risk register and ensure regular risk assessments are conducted for each portfolio component.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

4.     Stakeholder Communication:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders regarding portfolio performance and strategy.

  • Communicate portfolio updates, risks, and opportunities to senior management and other stakeholders.

  • Schedule and lead monthly portfolio review meetings with key stakeholders, providing detailed reports and dashboards.

  • Facilitate decision-making processes regarding portfolio adjustments.

5.     Resource Allocation:

  • Optimize resource allocation across the portfolio to ensure efficient use of capital, time, and personnel.

  • Balance short-term and long-term goals within the portfolio.

  • Track and report on resource utilization across the portfolio, ensuring alignment with project priorities.

  • Coordinate with project managers and other departments to ensure alignment of resources with portfolio priorities.

6.     Market Analysis:

  • Stay informed about market trends, economic conditions, and industry developments that may impact the portfolio.

  • Conduct research and analysis to support investment decisions and portfolio adjustments.

  • Provide quarterly market analysis reports, including recommendations for portfolio adjustments based on emerging trends.

7.     Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead initiatives to improve portfolio management processes, tools, and methodologies.

  • Implement a continuous improvement plan with specific goals, timelines, and measurable outcomes.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the portfolio management team.
