Job Overview

About the role

We are seeking a highly strategic, experienced, and detail-oriented Global Controller to lead and scale our global accounting operations. Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer with the goal of stretching into complete ownership of the accounting function, this role is responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, maintaining a robust internal control environment, and driving consistency across all regions. The Global Controller will play a critical role in supporting the CAO and executive leadership through accurate financial insights, operational rigor, and scalable processes.

What you'll do

Global Accounting & Reporting

  • Oversee all global accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and revenue recognition via NetSuite
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple countries (US, UK, Ireland, and Canada), entities, and regions
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of consolidated financial statements in compliance with GAAP

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Design, implement, and maintain a strong internal control framework in partnership with the CFO and CAO
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and international regulatory requirements
  • Lead global audit processes, including coordination with external auditors
  • Oversee statutory reporting and support global tax compliance in partnership with external advisors

Systems & Process Optimization

  • Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, automation, and reporting capabilities
  • Partner cross-functionally to streamline workflows and enhance data integrity
  • Oversee ERP systems and support system implementations or upgrades to scale the business

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing global accounting organization (current team of 5+ members)
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Strategic Partnership

  • Serve as a key thought partner to the CAO on accounting strategy, policy, and technical matters
  • Support the broader finance organization with insights that inform decision-making

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA preferred)
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including global/multi-entity environments
  • Prior experience in a Controller, senior accounting leadership role, or public accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Experience with NetSuite
  • Proven ability to lead and scale global teams
