Job Overview

As Interior Design Managerat our Global Office, you are part of a team that brings the legend of Belmond to life.

You will play a crucial role to provide an in-house design service as part of a high performing, results oriented Design and Construction team. Whether this is through taking full responsibility for the design and execution of selected projects within Belmond’s existing portfolio of hotels, trains, boats and safari camps or newly acquired properties. You will contribute to ensuring that projects are delivered on brand within budget and meeting the Belmond Design guidelines.

Primary Responsibilities Include

  • Collaborate with the management and operations team to understand the operational brief of the space.
  • Create a concept narrative and agree on the direction with the Interior Design Director.
  • Design a full concept and present selected projects to the design review committee for final sign-off.
  • Develop designs to adhere to Belmond brand guidelines and project budgets.
  • Create full project documentation and liaise with the operations team, Project Director, or property engineers to deliver the projects on time, on brand, and on budget.
  • Visit furniture manufacturers for prototype approvals.
  • Attend site meetings to ensure successful installation.
  • Accessorize and style spaces once installation is complete in preparation for photography and launch.
  • Work alongside the Procurement Director to identify potential suppliers to include in the Belmond Interior Design library.

  • The role is generally able to benefit from our current hybrid working policy where team members can work remotely for up to two days per week.

  • Our offices are located at Wogan House, 99 Great Portland Street, London W1W 7NY. Wogan House is newly renovated office space under the management of a leading co-working space and property management company.
  • Applicants must have eligibility to work in the UK.
  • This role involves international travel. You must be willing and able to travel to Belmond’s key locations and future target locations.

Requirements

What You Bring

  • Significant track record in delivering luxury hospitality design projects from concept to installation.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office.
  • Strong understanding of FF&E sourcing and procurement processes.
  • Deep understanding of luxury hospitality standards and trends.
  • Familiarity with sustainability principles in design.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and cultures.
  • Degree in Interior Design or related field, or equivalent.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
