Marine Coordinator - International projects

Job Overview

Your role:

As a Marine Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in the planning, execution, and oversight of all marine operations on our different international projects. You will ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of all marine activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Coordination:
    Lead and coordinate all marine operations across the project, ensuring alignment with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Fleet & Vessel Management:
    Oversee the deployment, operation, and maintenance of marine vessels and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with international and local maritime regulations.

 

  • Fleet Mobilization and Demobilization Expertise

Proficient in overseeing and executing fleet mobilization and demobilization processes, including the preparation and review of all necessary BIMCO or other contractual agreements, conducting on-hire and off-hire surveys, and securing towage approvals.

Experienced in marine lashing and securing deck cargo in accordance with IMO CSS code and/or other established safe practice guidelines.

  • Coordination with Local Marine and Communication Authorities

Maintain continuous communication with local port operators (TPA) regarding BBN's utilization of quay walls, storage yards, and other port facilities includes diligent follow-up on invoicing, port tariffs, and any applicable exemptions granted to BBN.

Optimize the engagement of local marine agents to serve as protective agents when interacting with local marine authorities.

Ensure compliance with Flag State Control (TASAC) requirements by communicating all class and statutory certificates, maintaining their validity, and obtaining and renewing local navigation licenses for all vessels.

Ensure all radio frequencies licenses are in order and renewed in ample time.

  • Operational Oversight:
    Monitor daily marine activities, troubleshoot operational challenges, and implement strategic solutions to enhance efficiency and safety.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    Liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, port authorities, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth execution of marine works.
  • Safety & Environmental Compliance:
    Champion BESIX’s safety culture and environmental standards, together with the CPY requirement by studying all contractual related documents, MS, Procedures conducting regular audits and promoting continuous improvement.

Studying and understanding the prevailing weather conditions and the weather limits recognized on site as the final decision of minimizing and/or stopping activities on site because of weather conditions remain yours.

  • Team Leadership:
    Empower and guide marine crews and site teams, fostering a collaborative and proactive work environment.
