Why This Role Matters
The Project Director is responsible for overseeing a large marine project (>USD 300m) or multiple small marine projects through local deputies. He/she leads and manages the project(s) departments to achieve successful completion of a project, within given safety, quality, budgets and timeframe. He/she is the overall responsible for the P&L of the project(s).Through their leadership on project management, their key responsibilities include meeting clients, consultants and project(s) stakeholders, organizing the project departments to ensure timely availability of working documents, coordinating work preparation, managing sub-contracting and purchasing processes, and ensuring the efficiency of project delivery to the clients and consultants. He/she is accountable for Health Safety and Environmental assurance and control, Quality Assurance and Control, on-site technical preparation and execution, plant fleet management, contractual relations with the Employers and interactions with Authorities and Third Parties.
What You’ll Drive
- Supervise and coordinate activities for the successful completion of the project(s) in accordance with client requirements, organizational policies/procedures, contract terms, and specified time and cost parameters.
- Coach and mentor project managers working under them
- Establish the organizational chart and project processes to ensure the proper functioning of the support team in various sections, in accordance with company policies.
- Address processes malfunctions as needed and motivate staff effectively.
- Coordinate activities on the project(s) among different trades and departments.
- Validate contractual options, whether they are technical, financial, or time related.
- Validate legal matters, with the agreement of the Six Construct legal department.
- Manage contractual and financial follow-up and budget control.
- Approve all engagements related to the project.
- Conclude supply and sub-contracts after preparatory work by the support team, including pre-contract quality and performance audits.
- Engage in social contacts and public relations to benefit the company.
- Coordinate with all third parties, negotiate with contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors throughout all stages of the project life cycle, and participate in handling tenders and contracts.
- Implement project budgets and allocate resources, enforce project standards, conduct technical reviews, manage team.
