Senior iOS Engineer (Expressions of Interest)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with developers, designers, delivery lead and clients in an agile environment 
• Design, build and maintain high performance reusable and reliable code for the iOS platform
• Ensure the successful integration with back-end services
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality and responsiveness of applications
• Help maintain code quality, organisation and automation through user testing and peer reviews
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
• Be informed in the emerging ways to approach testing and encourage better practices to improve overall product quality

Skills

• In-depth experience in creating large scale mobile applications
• Strong knowledge and experience using Swift programming languages
• Experience with iOS frameworks such as Core Data and Core Animation
• Understanding of Apple’s iOS design principles and interface guidelines
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect iOS applications to back-end services
• Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
• Knowledge of low level C-based libraries
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
• A knack for benchmarking and optimization
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Familiarity with Unit Testing
• Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery
• Familiarity working with Agile Framework principles (Relative Estimation, Task breakdown, Sprint cadences)

In addition for Principal level:

• Ability to lead the technical landscape of a project, providing architectural and design direction
• Experience with estimating, scoping and discovery activities
• Ability to engage with Digital and Enterprise Solution Architects and provide recommendations
