Job Overview

Make your mark by driving commercial success across your assigned region, building strong client relationships, and securing new business opportunities that support the Group Business Plan. Reporting to the Managing Director MEIS, you will play a key role in shaping regional growth and expanding our market presence. Based in our Sharjah office, this position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic international environment with frequent travel across the region.

Your responsibilities as a senior commercial manager:

  • Prepare and execute approved annual commercial plans, strategies, and targets for the assigned area, while identifying and driving new short- and long-term business opportunities.
  • Ensure SL’s pre-qualification and market positioning on bid lists of target companies as defined in the Group Business Plan.
  • Conduct market and operational analysis during the “prepare for tender” phase and develop the corresponding bid strategy.
  • Lead and manage tender processes, including preparing and finalizing bids for submission.
  • Draft Board memos to obtain approval for bid submissions and contract conclusions.
  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships with existing and potential clients and other relevant stakeholders, while promoting SL’s portfolio through regular engagement to secure business.
  • Ensure contractual rate escalations and variations are properly executed.
  • Provide advice on potential joint venture partners.
  • Record and report client visits, meetings, and developments in the CRM system, and produce timely commercial reports and business intelligence information.
  • Identify, execute, and manage key promotional activities.

Your qualities 
You can make your mark as a senior commercial manager if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a maritime academy or equivalent university qualification, with 5–7 years of relevant commercial management experience in the maritime industry.
  • Proven commercial management experience within the maritime sector, with strong understanding of commercial contracts.
  • Solid knowledge of tender analysis and bid preparation, supported by strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Demonstrated managerial competence, attention to detail, and accuracy in administration.
  • Proactive, commercially savvy, and able to work effectively under pressure with a hands-on approach.
  • Fluent in English (Arabic is an advantage), with willingness to travel across the Middle East and experience working in multicultural environments.
