Boston Engineering seeks a driven, hands-on sales and marketing leader to grow the firm’s commercial (non-government, non-defense) engineering consulting business. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing a high-performance sales strategy targeting markets such as medical devices, diagnostics, robotics, industrial automation, and other innovation-driven sectors.
The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with the ability to execute personally and to lead a team. This role will oversee both sales and marketing functions — building pipeline, closing deals, shaping messaging, and ultimately driving growth.

Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership
- Lead all sales efforts targeting commercial markets (excluding government and defense).
- Personally engage in high-value sales pursuits; own key client relationships.
- Build, develop, and manage a high-performing sales team.
- Establish and manage sales processes, KPIs, reporting, and forecasting.
- Set and meet revenue targets through disciplined pipeline management.
Market Development
- Identify and prioritize target industry sectors and client segments.
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies that align with company capabilities.
- Monitor competitive landscape, industry trends, and client needs to shape offerings.
Marketing Oversight
- Oversee brand positioning, messaging, and campaigns to support business development.
- Align marketing content and initiatives with sales objectives.
- Ensure consistent client-facing communications across channels (website, proposals, presentations, etc.).
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering, project management, and executive leadership to align technical offerings with client needs.
- Support proposal development, including scope definition and pricing strategy.
- Champion a customer-centric, solutions-focused approach across the organization.
