Visual Designer
Full-timeJob Overview
We are looking for a talented Visual Designer to help elevate our creative output across digital, print, presentations, campaigns, and client-facing experiences.
The Visual Designer will play a key role in shaping and evolving the Brighton Jones brand through compelling visual storytelling. This person will bring strong design fundamentals, a digital-first mindset, and the ability to translate ideas into engaging experiences across multiple channels.
You will partner closely with teams across Marketing: Brand Strategy, Digital, Content, Community, and Experiences to create impactful work that supports business growth and deepens engagement with clients, prospects, and teammates. This role reflects the organization's desire for a designer who goes beyond traditional production design and can comfortably create across modern digital channels.

What You'll Do:
- Brand system and craft. Keeping expression consistent across everything, and contributing to how our brand standards evolve. This share grows as you do.
- Digital and campaign design. Landing pages, website modules, social campaigns, email, infographics, campaigns, and digital reports.
- Presentation and narrative design. Executive communications, client presentations, conference and webinar material. Someone senior stands in front of this work and it has to hold up.
This is a broad role, but it is not an evenly broad role. Roughly how the role breaks down:
You'll partner most closely with Marketing, Brand Strategy, and Content. The Creative Director sets priority when those pull in different directions.
Brighton Jones is entering a period of real change in how the brand is expressed. This role is not brand maintenance. You'll help shape what comes next.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree, graphic design certificate or equivalent relevant experience preferred.
-
4+ years of professional design experience. Formal training in graphic, visual, or communication design — or equivalent demonstrated fundamentals. We care about the fundamentals, not the credential.
-
A portfolio weighted toward digital, not primarily print. We want to see visual thinking across screens and systems.
-
Real presentation craft. You can take a rough outline and a pile of dense content and return something an executive is glad to present. This is a specific skill, and we will look for evidence of it.
-
AI fluency. Tell us about one project where an AI tool changed your process — and one place you deliberately chose not to use it. The second half of that answer matters more.
-
The ability to defend a recommendation. Not to win, but to make the reasoning visible so a non-designer can engage with it.
-
Tools: Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), PowerPoint, Word, Claude Design, ChatGPT.
- Helpful, not required: motion graphics and simple animation, UX fundamentals, wireframing and user flows, usability & accessibility basics, WordPress.
This Role Probably Isn't For You If
- You want to own one design surface end to end. This job moves across many formats in a week.
- You'd rather receive a brief than help build one.
- You're looking for a step toward pure product design. This is brand and marketing work.
- Presentation design feels like a lesser assignment. Here it's a substantial share of the role, and the work that reaches the most people.
How We'll Know It's Working
- Complicated material comes out of your hands clearer than it went in.
- Teams bring you in while an idea is still forming, not after it's finished.
- Our digital work stops looking like it came from four different places.
Compensation:
- Pay: $85,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
- Fully paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees
- 401(k) with 100% match up to 3% of annual compensation
- Equity ownership opportunities for every employee
- New Business Incentive Program
- Generous employee referral bonus
- Cell phone data reimbursement
- Financial planning services discount for employees and immediate family members
- Minimum 3 weeks PTO starting Day 1
- Winter Break, Summer Friday flex-days, and 10 paid holidays
- Unlimited Volunteer Time Off plus company grant matching
- Heavily subsidized transit
- 100% reimbursement for required training, certifications, licensing, and dues
- Personal career development plans
- Richer Life Business Partner (coaching for all employees)
- Mindful Emotional & Social Intelligence training
- Annual professional & personal wellbeing stipend
- Quarterly team-building events
- Regular social events
- Employee-led book clubs, committees, and affinity groups
- Paid Parental leave (13 weeks for birthing parent and 6 weeks for non-birthing parent)
- Adoption benefits
- Anniversary milestone celebrations, including a 3-month paid sabbatical at 10 years
