Your Job:
As a Brooks Senior HR Generalist, Asia, you are an integral part of the Brooks Asia HR Team ensuring the smooth operation of the day-to-day activities of our Human Resources department. You will apply innovative approaches and an understanding of regional and company culture to build the best employee experience and make the company a better place to work.
In this role you will serve as the primary HR point of contact for Shanghai employees, providing guidance and support on HR-related matters. You will create procedures, programs and strategic planning to cultivate team spirit and embrace Brooks culture.

Your Job:
As a Brooks Senior HR Generalist, Asia, you are an integral part of the Brooks Asia HR Team ensuring the smooth operation of the day-to-day activities of our Human Resources department. You will apply innovative approaches and an understanding of regional and company culture to build the best employee experience and make the company a better place to work.
In this role you will serve as the primary HR point of contact for Shanghai employees, providing guidance and support on HR-related matters. You will create procedures, programs and strategic planning to cultivate team spirit and embrace Brooks culture.
Your Responsibilities:
- Manage the entire recruitment cycle in Shanghai in collaborating with Recruiter, Asia; be responsible for devising and implementing effective recruitment strategies to hire high-quality talent. You will work closely with Shanghai leaders and Asia HR teams to understand staffing needs and deliver successful recruitment outcomes, ensuring the growth and success of Shanghai entity.
- New hire On-boarding:
- Participate in developing content for Onboarding materials.
- Partner with recruiter and hiring managers to manage the onboarding and new hire process to ensure representation of Brooks culture and a positive employee experience. Conduct the HR onboarding session for new hired in Shanghai, covering HR operations, compensations & benefits and others information relevant
- Off-boarding coordination: work with related teams ensures smooth employee off-boarding and positive experience for existing employees.
- Provide guidance and recommendations on local immigration and relocation regulations and practices to US HR and Leaders ensuring proper work permits and resident visas are attained/ renewed for our global assignment employees or non-local hires. Act as the main point of contact during the relocation of expatriate assignees to host country in compliance with local regulations
- Lead the design and implementation ofnew initiatives or policies / handbooks in Shanghai entity, regularly review and update as needed, own communication of updates or new HR policies and procedures to the Shanghai employees. Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements and ensure regulatory compliance with legal requirements in all countries represented pertinent to the day-to-day management of employees. Proactively maintain an open line of communication with managers and employees on HR service-related matters.
- Conduct regular 1 on 1 meetings with leaders to review talent, advice on performance management, career development, organizational design, etc.
- Providing strategic HR advice to Asia leaders related to employee relations, performance management, conflict resolution, staff retention, policy development
- Identify and mitigate company risk and recommend a plan of action for HR employment matters.
- Design programs to address staff turnover and retention.
- Participate in the collection of local market data and partner with HQ Compensation on the analysis of data to provide insights into regional competitiveness and market trends and provide data and insights to inform leaders on compensation decisions. Utilize this information to inform program and policy decisions.
- Manage and administer the annual health check-up for employees with a dedicated and professional health care center in consultation with Asia HR Leaders. Update the program as needed based on competitor offerings, employee feedback and business needs
- Lead the organization of team events for Shanghai employees such as Company Meetings, Birthdays, Fruit-time, Women's Day, Christmas day, etc. to cultivate the team spirits as well as Brooks culture. Ensure consistency with other Asia offices while modifying based on local customs and practices.
- Work with Asia HR team and consult Asia HR Leaders in promoting Brooks culture through global / regional team activities, events (Global Running Day, Charity Day, Run With Asia, etc.) around Asia.
- Monitor the "pulse" of the employees to deliver a high level of employee engagement and connection with our culture and brand and to identify areas of opportunity.
- Promote a culture of feedback, listening, transparency, and accountability, reinforcing Brooks values and Connect Leadership principles.
- Act as a mentor and share experiences and knowledge with junior HR teammates.
- Manage and/or participate in miscellaneous projects and assignments as requested by Asia HR Leaders.
- Other responsibilities as required.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree OR additional related work experience.
- 5 years+ experience in Human Resources field.
- Knowledge of current trends and practices relating to HR concepts.
- Strong knowledge of local labor laws and regulations.
- Good interpersonal and influence skills with experience establishing credibility and working relationships at all levels with diverse nationalities in a multi-cultural working environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating effective listening through concise, clear verbal and written communication.
- Highly learning agile: capable of adapting quickly to change and applying new information and skills to work duties.
- Results-oriented person with the ability to balance and prioritize numerous tasks and utilize all available resources with a high sense of urgency and self-motivation.
- Must possess the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, team environment.
- Fluent English communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Computer proficiency with MS Office suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio), SharePoint, office technology and equipment; experience in Workday and applicant tracking systems.
- Passionate participation in sports activities, overridden by the ability to understand and empathize with the runner to develop loyal, engaging relationships with our customers and the Brooks community.
