Starting with audience development and community building, they're positioning themselves to become a trusted thought leader in financial wellness while developing the foundation for future AI-driven personalized financial planning services.
Their mission is to bring high-quality financial planning resources—including estate planning, insurance, financial products, and comprehensive financial planning—to individuals who may not have sufficient financial plans to support their long-term goals.
We're seeking an experienced Community & Content Manager to lead our client's audience development and engagement strategy from the ground up. This is a foundational role for someone who thrives on building communities from zero and wants to be a key architect of their brand presence across social platforms.
You'll work closely with our client's founder and leadership team while supporting external vendor relationships to create compelling content and drive meaningful community engagement in the financial wellness space.
Key Responsibilities
Content Strategy & Creation
Content Scheduling & Distribution: Plan, schedule, and distribute content across all social media platforms
Writing & Copywriting: Create engaging captions, posts, and written content that resonates with the fitness/wellness-focused audience
Content Planning: Develop content calendars aligned with business objectives and audience interests
Brand Voice Development: Establish and maintain consistent brand voice, vision, and narrative across all channels
Community Management
Audience Engagement: Foster meaningful interactions and build relationships with community members
Community Building: Grow engaged audiences across social platforms from zero
Feedback Collection: Gather and analyze community insights on content, positioning, pricing, and user experience
Relationship Development: Identify and cultivate relationships with potential channel partners and collaboration opportunities
Vendor Coordination & Support
External Team Support: Collaborate with and support relationships with graphic designers, video producers, and other creative vendors
Creative Brief Development: Assist in providing briefs and creative direction to external teams while maintaining brand consistency
Production Support: Help coordinate creative production timelines and deliverables
Vendor Research: Support research and evaluation of creative partners and production tools based on experience
Analytics & Strategy
Performance Monitoring: Daily oversight of social media performance and engagement metrics
Reporting: Provide regular insights and recommendations based on performance data
Strategic Input: Contribute to overall marketing strategy based on community feedback and market trends
Tool Optimization: Recommend and implement social media management tools and processes
Operations Support
Production Administration: Handle logistics related to content production and campaign execution
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with founder and project management/marketing lead
Brand Activations: Identify and execute opportunities for community engagement and brand activations
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field
5-8 years of social media and community management experience
Proven track record building engaged communities from zero
Exceptional writing skills with experience creating compelling social media captions and content
Social Media Expertise: Deep understanding of social media best practices, trends, algorithms, and platform-specific strategies
Platform Mastery: Advanced knowledge across major social media channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.)
Analytics Proficiency: Experience with social media management and analytics tools (Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social, native platform analytics, etc.)
Vendor Collaboration Experience: Working effectively with creative professionals (designers, videographers, etc.)
Project Coordination: Skills for managing multiple creative deliverables and campaigns simultaneously
Independent self-starter who can take ownership of projects with minimal supervision
Strategic thinker who can contribute to high-level planning while executing tactical work
Visionary mindset with ability to see the bigger picture while handling day-to-day operations
Strong communication skills for managing internal team and external vendor relationships
Adaptable and resourceful in a startup environment with evolving needs
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in financial services, wellness, or fitness industries
Background working with early-stage companies or startups
Knowledge of affiliate marketing and partnership development
Experience with content management systems and marketing automation tools
Understanding of compliance considerations in financial services content
Paid social media advertising experience
Influencer marketing and partnership experience
