Job Summary
Reporting directly to the Senior Associate Investments, and Vice President of Asset Management, the intern will play an integral role supporting both the Investment and Asset Management teams at Cabot Properties. These teams are responsible for the acquisition, performance, and overall management of properties throughout the investment lifecycle.
The intern will gain hands-on exposure to the full spectrum of real estate investment and asset management activities - including underwriting, due diligence, leasing, financial modeling, portfolio analysis, and valuation. Working closely with senior professionals, investment officers, and asset managers, the intern will contribute to active transactions and portfolio initiatives while developing strong technical, analytical, and professional skills in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
This position offers a unique opportunity to understand how institutional real estate investments are sourced, executed, and managed across global markets, directly contributing to Cabot’s continued leadership in logistics real estate.
Key Responsibilities
Investments
- Support and work with the UK team members of the Investment Team to support investment activity across all of Cabot’s investment vehicles.
- Prepare materials for Investment Committee.
- Assist in the preparation of investment underwriting in both Argus and Excel.
- Update Cabot’s lease and sales transaction database maintained in Excel.
- Conduct market and submarket level research using CoStar and other supplementary data sources.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Research and underwrite tenants (public and private companies).
- Understanding of AI and the ability to apply it to current processes.
Asset Management
- Assist in maintaining Argus Enterprise (“AE”) cash flow models.
- Help review abstracts of lease agreements for input into Cabot’s accounting and lease administration systems.
- Support asset managers in preparing lease transaction summaries and reviewing operating reports.
- Participate in quarterly valuation processes and budgeting exercises.
- Gain exposure to property operations by working with property managers and asset managers.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven record of academic performance.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Proficiency with Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Access).
- Works effectively and cooperatively as a member of a team.
- Demonstrates a strong attention to detail.
- Effective problem-solving skills with ability to multi-task.
- Basic finance, accounting and business knowledge is preferred.
Work Environment & Travel
- This job is conducted in an office work environment, with an ability to remain in a stationary position (e.g., seated at a desk) for extended periods.
- Frequent use of computers and digital communication platforms.
- The candidate may be expected to travel across the UK.
