Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and investigate daily trade surveillance alerts across asset classes (equities, fixed income, FX, derivatives).
  • Analyse trading patterns to identify potential insider dealing, market manipulation, wash trades, layering, spoofing, and other forms of market abuse.
  • Conduct research, including news checks, historical behaviour analysis, and counterparty reviews.
  • Write clear, concise, regulator-ready rationales for each alert.
  • Escalate potential suspicious activity to the Investigations or Compliance Advisory teams.
  • Work towards daily and weekly throughput targets with strong accuracy and quality control.
  • Contribute to improvements in alert calibration, thresholds, and surveillance processes where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with team leads and quality assurance reviewers to maintain consistency and high standards.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret trading behaviour.
  • Excellent written communication, with proven ability to produce high-quality alert rationales.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet throughput SLAs.
  • UK-based (due to regulatory and project requirements).

Desirable

  • Experience working on alert backlogs or remediation projects.
  • Previous consultancy or contract project experience.
  • Knowledge of fixed income or derivatives trading.
  • Prior exposure to s166 or regulatory remediation work.
