Job Overview

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain essential IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware

  • Take responsibility for projects and operational solutions within the larger business initiative

  • Manage Help Desk tickets, distribute ticket load evenly daily to the team, planning and prioritizing systematically to minimize backlog and ensure operational efficiency.

  • Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems administration

  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, and software

  • Track and maintain hardware and software inventory. 

  • Management of IT staff including IT staff training, IT staff load prioritization, IT staff load distribution, coaching, counseling, disciplining, recruiting and selecting.

  • Analyze departmental needs, identify vulnerabilities, and boost productivity, efficiency, and accuracy to inform business decisions

  • Ensure technology components work together seamlessly to meet business needs, using their full range of capabilities, and stay informed about new features and competitor solutions

  • Analyze processes, technologies, and vendors continually to find areas for improvement

  • Prepare cost–benefit analyses when upgrades are necessary, and monitor vendors to ensure that they’re offering the best-possible service and value for business needs

  • Train employees to use software and hardware; troubleshoot issues and provide technical support when needed

  • Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures

  • Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables.

  • Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed

  • Conducting regular system audits

 

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent knowledge, migration, implementation & troubleshooting of SaaS (i.e. Jira Help Desk System, Google Workspace),  Servers & Systems (i.e. Active directory, Email Servers, SMTP Servers, DNS, Domain Registrar, DHCP), Virtualization, Cloud (i.e. GCP), Data Center, Office Builds, Operating Systems (i.e. macOS, Windows), End-user-devices, Mobile Devices.

  • Basic troubleshooting, administration & design of Trend Micro / Fortigate Firewall, Cisco / Aruba / Ruckus Wireless devices, Cisco / HP switches & VLans.

  • Familiar with Physical Security (i.e. Face Recognition Access Controller or Biometric Door Access, CCTV cams & NVR) and Endpoint Security (i.e. EDR, Anti-virus).

  • Proven knowledge of AV/VC (Audio Video/Video Conferencing) technologies (i.e. Chromebox, Nearity, Anker, Jabra, Display TVs, Projector, Projector Screens, Digital Signage) and meeting room, town hall event setups.

  • Good working knowledge of project management, P.O.C., project trackers, project timelines and resource allocation.

  • Wide networking & contacts to be able to find and maintain good working relationships with IT vendors.

  • Proven soft skills ability to lead people, discuss and collaborate with other leaders, speak and train employees.

  • Basic knowledge of scripting languages or programming languages or RPA (i.e. automation of CorpIT tasks)
