About the Opportunity

We are picking up the pace with tendering for education and training projects in Fiji, and as Catalpa continues to grow, so does our appetite for awesome talent.  

Right now, we’re bidding for an exciting education project and are on the lookout for a Learning Designer. This role is central to co-designing, developing, and delivering blended learning modules that hit the sweet spot between engaging, practical, and accessible.

You’ll be the connector—bringing together experts, local educators, and training providers to make learning materials that really work for different audiences.

Requirements

This is what we’re looking for - we’d love to meet someone who:

  • Knows their stuff when it comes to learning design and development
  • Can create blended learning modules using best-practice instructional design.
  • Turns tricky, technical content into clear, engaging learning experiences (bonus points for interactive or multimedia magic).
  • Has experience with co-design facilitation—working hand-in-hand with experts and communities.
  • Makes sure learning is inclusive, accessible, and works even in low-bandwidth settings.
  • Values community and cultural knowledge, and can weave it into content in authentic ways.

Extra awesome if you bring:

  • Experience in early childhood education in Fiji.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and culturally responsive pedagogy.
  • Familiarity with online learning platforms (Moodle, Canvas, Articulate, Rise) and maybe even AI tools.
  • Strong digital design and facilitation skills.
  • A passion for building high-quality learning experiences for remote and hard-to-reach learners.
  • Fluency in local languages as well as understanding of indigenous knowledge and culture.
