PURPOSE OF JOB
The Assistant Underwriter is responsible for providing exceptional service and support to clients who have personal lines insurance policies for auto and home. This role involves managing customer inquiries, processing policy changes, and ensuring client satisfaction by addressing their needs efficiently and professionally.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- To provide excellent customer service to walk-in clients, answer incoming calls and respond to customer emails regarding personal lines insurance policies.
- Assist with the issuance of new policies and the renewal of existing policies.
- Review policy documents for accuracy and completeness before delivery to clients.
- Assist clients with questions about coverage, billing, policy renewals, and other service-related inquiries.
- Process policy changes, including adding or removing coverage, updating personal information, and adjusting limits.
- Provide accurate and clear information to clients, helping them understand their policies and coverage options.
- Identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities to offer additional products or services that may benefit clients.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of client interactions, policy changes, and other relevant information in the insurance system.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or higher.
- A minimum of 3 years of customer facing experience.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills with strong interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality customer service.
- Pursuing or holds a certificate in Insurance (Cert CII or its equivalent)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Proficient in using customer management software and other office applications.
- Must be accurate and detail oriented.
- Knowledge of insurance products and services is a plus.
- A strong work ethic with a positive and friendly demeanor
