Role Summary
The Product Owner is responsible for defining the product vision, prioritizing the backlog, and ensuring successful delivery of features that bring maximum value to customers and the business. This role acts as the bridge between stakeholders, users, and the development team, ensuring alignment and clarity throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Strategy & Vision
- Define and communicate the product vision, roadmap, and goals.
- Translate business strategy into actionable product plans.
- Conduct market, competitor, and user research to identify opportunities.
2. Backlog Management
- Create, refine, and maintain a prioritized product backlog.
- Write clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and feature specifications.
- Ensure backlog items are well-groomed and ready for development.
3. Stakeholder Collaboration
- Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders and business teams.
- Align product decisions with business objectives and user needs.
- Gather feedback and translate it into actionable improvements.
4. Scrum Team Collaboration
- Work closely with the Scrum Master and development team to deliver product increments.
- Provide clarity and guidance during sprint planning, reviews, and daily stand-ups.
- Make real-time decisions regarding scope, priority, and trade-offs.
5. Delivery & Performance
- Ensure features meet quality standards and deliver business value.
- Monitor product performance using KPIs, metrics, and user insights.
- Iterate and improve the product based on feedback and analytics.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or in a similar product management role.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to balance technical knowledge with business context.
- Experience with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Trello, or similar.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification: CSPO, PSPO, or similar Product Owner certification.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments.
- Familiarity with UX/UI principles and customer journey mapping.
- Domain experience (e.g., SaaS, finance, retail, healthcare, AI) is a plus.
