Senior Developer
Job Purpose:
The Docgen apis generate application declaration documents for new policy holders and renewals.
Successful applicant will be expected to participate in Agile ceremonies.
Collaborate with consuming teams and infrastructure teams.
Adhere to XP principles and practices.
Support and troubleshoot issues with the apis in non-prod and prod.
Implement, test, and deploy enhancements through non-prod and production.
Essential Functions:
Spring Framework and Spring Boot:
Expertise in the Spring ecosystem is essential, particularly Spring Boot for simplified application setup and configuration.
Testing:
Proficiency in unit testing with frameworks like JUnit and knowledge of mocking is important for ensuring API quality. Familiarity with tools like Postman (or similar) for manually testing API endpoints.
Data structures:
Good Knowledge of JSON required. Experience of manipulating JSON for Extract Transform Load (ETL) using java frameworks like Jackson (or similar).
RESTful API Principles & Design.
Knowledge of REST concepts, HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE), and status codes for designing and understanding APIs.

Four years of college resulting in a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Special Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Core Java and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP):
A strong foundation in Java e.g. inheritance, polymorphism, and design patterns.
API Security
Understanding authentication and authorization mechanisms, such as OAuth, JWT, and basic/digest authentication, for securing APIs.
CI/CD:
Understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines for automated testing and deployment. E.g., Jenkins SonarQube, Fortify and GIT
Problem-Solving and Debugging:
Ability to analyze and resolve issues effectively is vital for supporting APIs.
