Electrical Supervisor
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to oversee all electrical construction activities on a large-scale industrial project in Belgium.
The role is responsible for supervising installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, QA/QC requirements, and safety standards. The Electrical Supervisor will coordinate with multiple disciplines and subcontractors to ensure timely and high-quality execution of electrical works.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate all electrical field activities, including installation of cables, switchgear, transformers, panels, and power distribution systems.
Review and interpret electrical drawings, single line diagrams, schematics, and datasheets.
Ensure compliance with project technical specifications, QA/QC standards, and site safety procedures.
Coordinate with mechanical, instrumentation, commissioning, and civil teams to resolve technical issues and manage interfaces.
Monitor subcontractor performance, ensuring adherence to quality, schedule, and safety requirements.
Maintain daily progress reports, work records, and inspection documentation.
Support pre-commissioning and commissioning of electrical systems, including functional testing and loop checks.
Identify required materials, equipment, and tools, coordinating with procurement or stores.
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during installation and commissioning phases.
Participate in punch list generation, closure, and final handover documentation.
Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 5–10 years of experience in electrical supervision on industrial projects (oil & gas, petrochemical, power, or similar).
Strong knowledge of low voltage (LV) and high voltage (HV) systems, switchgear, transformers, power distribution, and emergency power systems.
Familiarity with international standards (IEC, NEC, IEEE, API) and project QA/QC procedures.
Experience supervising subcontractors and coordinating multi-discipline interfaces.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Fluent written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus.
Strong technical knowledge of electrical construction practices and installation methods.
Ability to read, interpret, and verify electrical drawings and specifications.
Effective supervision of subcontractors and multi-discipline teams.
Excellent documentation, reporting, and communication skills.
High attention to detail, quality, and safety.
Predominantly field-based role, with extensive on-site presence (60–80% of working time).
Ability to operate in an industrial construction environment, including work at heights, lifting operations, and confined spaces when required.
