As a mechanical technician, you will assemble models, prototypes and associated equipment within a research and development (R&D) programme dedicated to the development of high-temperature superconducting magnets. You will contribute to the design, manufacture and assembly of superconducting coils, components and associated tooling.

Functions

  • Produce high-temperature superconductor-based magnet coils.
  • Assemble superconducting magnet models, prototypes and associated manufacturing tools.
  • Manufacture and modify mechanical parts using conventional machining techniques, such as milling, turning and forming.
  • Manage component stocks for assigned assemblies, initiate and follow up manufacturing requests and purchase orders, and perform acceptance tests.
  • Prepare production and quality-control documentation, including procedures, test and measurement reports and component traceability.
  • Produce computer-aided design (CAD) drawings of components and tooling, starting from 3D models
