Senior Accountant
***This position is based in Sofia, Bulgaria, with hybrid working options. Applicants must have a work/residence permit for the respective location.***
The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for the end-to-end financial accounting and reporting of a specific legal entity within the group. In addition to this operational responsibility, the role acts as a Global Process Owner (GPO) for a defined financial area (e.g., Global Travel Expenses, Payroll Accounting Interface). The objective is to combine local accounting excellence with the standardization and optimization of global financial processes.
Main Responsibilities:
A. Legal Entity Accounting (Autonomouse Responsability)
End-to-End Accounting: Management of the general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and fixed assets for the assigned entity.
Financial Closing: Independent preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards ( local GAAP).
Compliance & Reporting: Ensuring compliance with local statutory requirements and timely submission of the group reporting package.
Audit & Tax: Serving as the primary point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors; coordinating tax compliance and statutory filings.
Treasury & Cash Flow: Monitoring local liquidity, and managing payment cycles.
B. Global Functional Ownership:
Process Governance: Defining and maintaining global standards and policies for a specific functional area (e.g., travel expenses or global payroll accounting).
Harmonization: Developing and implementing uniform workflows and guidelines across all group entities to ensure consistency.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborating with global departments (e.g., HR, IT, Procurement) to bridge process gaps and drive automation.
