About the role

Chime is seeking a bold, strategic, and digitally native editorial leader to define and elevate our corporate storytelling. As Director of Corporate Editorial, you’ll shape the next generation of Chime’s corporate content strategy—fusing editorial excellence with social media savvy, AI-powered creativity, and scalable distribution.

This role goes beyond making engaging content for corporate stakeholders: you’ll align storytelling with business objectives, reputational goals, and corporate narratives. Your mission is to craft data-informed stories that resonate with key audiences—investors, policymakers, media, industry talent, and employees—while building a hybrid team that blends human creativity with machine intelligence for multi-platform impact.

The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $168,570.00 and up to $238,900.00. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

In this role, you can expect to (responsibilities)

Editorial Strategy & Corporate Narrative

  • Own Chime’s overarching corporate editorial strategy—aligned with business priorities, Corporate Affairs narratives, and reputational goals.
  • Act as a player-coach—shaping strategy while also creating content hands-on
  • Develop and manage a dynamic, strategic editorial calendar for corporate channels (e.g. newsroom, blog, newsletters).
  • Set clear messaging pillars and editorial standards to unify voice across owned, earned, and social media ecosystems.
  • Partner with Communications, Legal, Policy, Marketing, and Exec teams to translate strategy into content.

Cross-Platform Storytelling & Social Media

  • Drive channel-specific strategies across LinkedIn, Medium, YouTube Shorts, Instagram, TikTok, and other emerging formats.
  • Oversee day-to-day publishing, engagement, and analytics
  • Develop scalable formats that adapt content across channels—blog-to-video, post-to-op-ed, podcast-to-snackable social.

Thought Leadership & Influencer Ecosystem

  • Collaborate with external creators, validators, and partners to amplify stories authentically and strategically.
  • Use AI-based influencer discovery and sentiment tools to optimize voice selection and placement.

AI-Augmented Content Development & Team Leadership

  • Lead and grow a cross-functional team of writers, editors, designers, video producers, and AI content specialists.
  • Integrate AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Sora, Runway, Synthesia, ElevenLabs) into content creation workflows to accelerate speed and scale.
  • Build human-in-the-loop editorial systems that balance creativity with quality and governance.

Measurement, Optimization & Real-Time Feedback

  • Build a self-learning content system: integrate A/B testing, real-time analytics, and reputation feedback loops into editorial decision-making.
  • Partner with the Insights team to convert data into actionable storytelling opportunities.
  • Define KPIs to evaluate reach, engagement, and narrative effectiveness—and iterate accordingly.

To thrive in this role, you have (requirements)

  • 10+ years in corporate communications, digital media, or brand storytelling.
  • Proven success leading editorial and social media strategy in fintech, tech, or policy-influenced industries.
  • Exceptional editorial judgment, with a journalistic instinct for clarity, nuance, and strategic timing.
  • Experience building high-performing creative teams and managing agency or contributor networks.
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms, SEO, and content analytics tools (e.g., Sprout, GA, Notion AI, Jasper).
  • Comfort navigating complex environments, including regulated industries and executive stakeholder groups.
