Job Overview

The range for this role is $17.07 - $21.88/hr  

Actual base pay will be determined based on a successful candidate's work location, skills/abilities, experience, and education.

Interested applicants must be willing and able to work onsite full time in our Orlando, FL office.

The Job

The Lake Nona (LN) Security Guard is responsible to guard, patrol, and monitor premises to deter disturbances and to facilitate the general security operation of the site. Work closely with the entire Christian Care Ministry (CCM) and Operion Solutions leadership team to support the overall mission of the Ministry. In order to accomplish their work properly, the Security Guard must be very well organized and have excellent interpersonal skills, be self-motivated, and have high attention to detail.


Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

•    Patrols assigned site on foot; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical or equipment problems, and unauthorized persons
•    Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees while providing general security duties to our staff and visitors
•    Coordinate with facilities and security personnel as need whom oversee the complex from whom we lease space as needed
•    Investigates disturbances and responds to alarms and other calls for assistance
•    May have to respond to complex or serious emergency situations (active shooter, political unrest/protests, bomb threats, hostile employees, suicidal person, medical, etc.) and may be required to use deadly force.
•    Assist Human Resources with employee terminations
•    Regularly monitor surveillance cameras and review footage when required/as directed
•    Investigate illegal or suspicious activities
•    Display exceptional customer service and communication skills while greeting and checking in staff and guests
•    Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and apprehend or expel persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts
•    Escort employees to parking area after dark
•    Prepare logs and reports as required, including floor plan & seating assignments
•    Inspect and re-stock safety equipment and materials on a regular basis
•    Create guest and employee badges, manage and issue keys
•    Assist with fulfillment and facilities support duties as needed; such as mail, deliveries, meeting setup, seating arrangements, and cleaning
•    Contribute to the exercise and expression of Christian Care Ministry’s Christian beliefs
•    All other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience

•    High School Diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years’ previous security experience required 
•    Security Guard Certification (40-hour course) is required (FL only).
•    Valid State of Florida Driver’s License (FDL) required
•    Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required
•    Law enforcement or military experience is preferred
•    First responder and/or armed transport experience preferred

Other preferred qualifications/experience for this role:
•    CPR/AED, Stop the Bleed, EMT, and other medical training
•    Supplementary security guard training 
•    NIMS training
•    POST from any agency
•    “G” License Training – 28-hour course 
•    Yearly re-qualifications – Firearms re-qualification
