Under general direction, the 2913 Program Specialist provides essential support for SFBN Induction Training. The primary responsibility of this position is to deliver both virtual and in-person provide classroom instruction. This includes facilitating lectures, guiding hands-on activities, troubleshooting issues, conducting case reviews, and completing other tasks as needed to support the training team.
These positions operate within the Human Services Agency (HSA), supporting either the Learning and Organizational Development (L&OD) unit or the SF Benefits Net On‑The‑Job (SFBN OJT) Training team.
Essential Duties and Functions:

- Facilitate classroom-based sessions by guiding trainees through learning activities, supporting engagement and understanding, and maintaining an organized, productive training environment.
- Managing classroom operations by monitoring trainee attendance and behavior, maintaining accurate tracking records, assisting with weekly timesheet submissions, and escalating behavioral concerns as needed.
- Organizing and preparing written material for use in various formats including hard copy memos, manuals, and reports, interactive online resources, and presentation media.
- Contributing to short and long-term projects and workgroups by supporting coordination, planning, and implementation activities.
- Provide instructional support by assisting trainees during classroom activities, ensuring engagement and proper device use, managing and preparing materials, overseeing assessment compliance and supporting case processing during on-the-job training.
- Assist with On-The-Job Training case reviews to ensure accuracy and adherence to CalFresh and Medi-Cal program policy and standards, providing timely feedback on case reviews to support trainees’ development.
- Reviewing and monitoring Department compliance with County, Federal and State regulations as related to public assistance programs; reviewing guidelines related to the processing of public assistance applications; verifying eligibility, correctness of payment decisions and appropriateness of the services provided.
