About the role:
We are looking for a Parts Subject Matter Expert with elite parts desk, logistics, and supervisory skills to serve as the functional backbone of our night-shift operations. This is an elite, hands-on position for a disciplined operator who provides the technical and procedural drive required to ensure our high-volume production line never starves for parts.
You will be responsible for supporting production initiatives while simultaneously maintaining and perfecting how we work. You are a strategic partner for the front-of-the-line production staff, learning all functions of the organization, from data pipelines to working the parts order desk, to understand and close operational gaps. As the night-shift supervisor, you don’t just manage people; you manage performance and ensure every sourcing decision follows our established protocols.
Your success in this role is measured by three primary metrics:
- Order Accuracy: Ensuring the correct parts are identified and procured the first time to eliminate production delays
- Return Rate: Minimizing returns through technical expertise, compatibility verification, and procedural rigor
- Budget vs. Actual: Managing procurement costs and vendor selection to ensure night-shift operations stay within financial targets
What you’ll do:
Procedural Command & Performance Supervision
- Supervise a team of Aftermarket Parts Specialists, ensuring 100% adherence to established workflows and sourcing protocols
- Set daily priorities and manage the night-shift workflow to ensure smooth and predictable operations
- Jump onto the inspection line or parts desk as needed to reduce bottlenecks and maintain workflow
Sourcing & Technical Mastery
- Act as the final escalation point for complex sourcing challenges, ensuring correct part selection and compatibility
- Oversee quoting and ordering of aftermarket and used parts, balancing cost and speed within approved vendor structure
- Conduct regular audits of ordering activity to maintain high order accuracy and reduce return rates
Logistics & Operations Support
- Proactively manage backorders and substitutions to maintain service level agreements (SLAs) and production timelines
- Work the parts desk and review processes to identify gaps, skipped steps, or data integrity issues
- Update SOPs and tools (G-Sheets/Excel) to ensure improvements are standardized and sustained
What we’re looking for:
- 7+ years of automotive parts experience with proven supervisory or mentorship experience
- Strong attention to detail with a disciplined approach to process and compliance
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills, with the ability to track and manage KPI performance
- Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) or a Business degree preferred, with strong understanding of cost control, budgeting, and SLAs
- Deep understanding of vehicle components and the aftermarket parts ecosystem
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for structured handovers and shift reporting
Requirements:
- Strong process discipline with a “get-it-right-the-first-time” mindset
- Excellent communication skills and ability to provide clear updates to leadership
- Valid Ontario G2 Driver’s License (minimum) with a clean driver’s abstract
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
Who this is NOT for:
- Anyone who prefers “winging it” or taking shortcuts instead of following documented processes
- Anyone who views SOPs as optional rather than mandatory
- Anyone who wants to supervise from a distance instead of being hands-on and managing the flow of parts on the floor
Why you’ll love it at Clutch:
- Autonomy & ownership – opportunity to take full ownership of night shift parts operations
- Competitive wages and benefits
- Generous time off program
- Opportunity to work for an ambitious and fast-moving startup
Employment Type:
Existing, Permanent Full-Time
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary range: $90,000 - $120,000 annually
Health & dental benefits
Pay decisions reflect objective criteria: skills, performance, market benchmarking, responsibilities, and working conditions
