Job Overview

The Nigeria GATEWAY Program, led by Co-creation HUB (CcHUB), is a 5-year initiative designed to support 400,000 Nigerian youth, including women, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and displaced youth to access training, resources, and gig work opportunities.

We are seeking a Gender/DEI Manager to champion the integration of gender equality, disability inclusion, and broader diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles across the program. The Manager will ensure that interventions are inclusive, equitable, and responsive to the unique barriers faced by marginalized groups.

The Gender/DEI Manager will provide technical leadership on gender and inclusion strategies, oversee gender/disability audits, and support the design, implementation, and evaluation of interventions that close participation gaps. The role will also strengthen staff, partner, and stakeholder capacity to adopt inclusive approaches, ensuring the GATEWAY Program achieves measurable impact for women, PWDs, and other underrepresented groups in Nigeria’s digital gig economy.

Key Responsibilities

1. Gender & DEI Mainstreaming

  • Integrate gender-sensitive and inclusive approaches into the design, delivery, and evaluation of all program components.

  • Conduct gender, disability, and inclusion analysis to identify barriers and design responsive interventions.

  • Ensure that training, voucher systems, digital tools, and gig-matching mechanisms are inclusive and accessible.

  • Support M&E teams to integrate gender/DEI-sensitive indicators and track participation and outcomes for women, PWDs, and displaced youth.

2. Inclusion Audits and Action Planning

  • Lead gender and inclusion audits across program operations, training providers, partner hubs and gig platform partnerships.

  • Develop and monitor action plans to address gaps in participation, accessibility, and equity.

  • Regularly update program policies and processes to reflect evolving gender/DEI best practices and Nigerian regulatory standards.

3. Report Development and Resource Mobilization

  • Provide input on donor reports to ensure gender/DEI responsiveness.

  • Support budget reviews to ensure resources are adequately allocated for gender-sensitive and inclusive interventions.

4. Capacity Building and Training

  • Design and deliver training sessions for staff, partners, training providers, and gig platforms on gender equity, disability inclusion, and DEI practices.

  • Develop toolkits, guidelines, and resources for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to program teams to strengthen DEI integration into daily operations.

5. Thought Leadership and Advocacy

  • Position the GATEWAY Program as a leader in inclusive digital workforce development in Africa.

  • Document and share case studies, lessons, and success stories on gender and inclusion impact.

  • Represent the program at forums on gender equity, inclusion, and the future of work.

  • Advocate for inclusive workforce policies with gig platforms, government, and industry stakeholders.

6. Partnerships and Collaboration

  • Build partnerships with organizations focused on gender equity, disability rights, and youth inclusion.

  • Work with government, civil society, and private sector stakeholders to co-create inclusive interventions.

  • Support joint advocacy and collaborative efforts to promote equitable access to gig work opportunities in Nigeria.
