The Commis, is responsible for running a specific section of the kitchen efficiently. This role is vital in ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation are maintained at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in food preparation tasks as directed by senior chefs.
Follow recipes and presentation standards set by the kitchen.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and storage areas.
Ensure all food products are stored properly and used efficiently to minimize waste.
Support various sections of the kitchen (hot, cold, pastry, etc.) as needed.
Peel, chop, measure, and portion ingredients according to specifications.
Comply with health and safety, and hygiene regulations at all times.
Ensure kitchen tools and equipment are cleaned and stored properly.
Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Assist with receiving and checking deliveries of supplies.
