Job Overview

The Commis, is responsible for running a specific section of the kitchen efficiently. This role is vital in ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation are maintained at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in food preparation tasks as directed by senior chefs.

  • Follow recipes and presentation standards set by the kitchen.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and storage areas.

  • Ensure all food products are stored properly and used efficiently to minimize waste.

  • Support various sections of the kitchen (hot, cold, pastry, etc.) as needed.

  • Peel, chop, measure, and portion ingredients according to specifications.

  • Comply with health and safety, and hygiene regulations at all times.

  • Ensure kitchen tools and equipment are cleaned and stored properly.

  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

  • Assist with receiving and checking deliveries of supplies.
