Hydro Generation Technician (Mechanical / Electrical)

We are on the hunt for a suitably qualified and enthusiastic person to fill the role of Generation Technician (Mechanical or Electrical) at our hydro dams . The key focus of this role is to maintain and operate our Hydro plant in a way that ensures Contact Energy can be as successful as possible in the marketplace. Your goal is to support the reliable, safe and flexible operation of Contact’s essential assets. 

You will do this by working with the best of the bunch to ensure safety at all times and that we carry out maintenance and operations at the highest of standards.

What you’ll do  

• Conduct maintenance throughout the plant ensuring safety at the workplace and maintaining reliability maintenance standards
• Operate and isolate plant and apparatus in a safe and approved manner (as required under the Contact Energy Safety Rules), to meet safety and maintenance requirements
• Operate Plant and Apparatus when required by Dispatch Traders and/or in emergencies
