Tasks and responsibilities
- Form sales strategy for North China, independently originate sales, and build new relationships across different types of clients. Be an aggressive, energetic, driving force for sales growth
- Become a trusted advisor to clients and build and develop key client relationships; identify opportunities to support clients in China and internationally
- Understand and define client problems and scope solutions; communicate in detail to other Control Risks consultants in China and worldwide to provide solutions to complex issues
- Successfully, introduce, guide, scope, and engage in delivery of consulting cases
- Support the head of mainland China to monitor and identify new opportunities in the market, and communicate those trends and opportunities internally
- Have an organized, rigorous, and cooperative methodology to business development independently identify and bring in new opportunities, work with others to bring in and grow business opportunities.
- Work to understand Control Risks’ unique consulting offering, but look for places where creative inputs, new applications and improvements to delivery can be made.
Requirements
Business development and relationship management
- Demonstrated experience in maintaining and growing key client relationships/accounts
- Direct experience in managing and achieving sales targets
- Demonstrated experience in networking effectively to expand and deepen business relationships
- Experience and history working and communicating across borders or with clients and colleagues in other international locations
- Understanding of service sector cost requirements including time and materials and project-based/fixed fee models
Global knowledge, local application
- Experience working with Chinese technology companies and manufacturers a plus, especially if supporting their problem solving of overseas risk management issues
- Prior experience advising and/or Knowledge of operational, ng and/or compliance, or regulatory risks for companies in high or medium risk environments; Security management, investigation, market entry, market research, or analytical experience a plus
- Past strategy, investment, legal, compliance or other forms of consulting and advisory experience a plus
- Past government affairs, public policy, or other experience dealing with government and regulators in China a plus, but not required
Qualification and Specialist Skills
- Native verbal and written Chinese and excellent English-language skills
- Bachelor’s degree or above in either international relations, law, economics, public policy, or a related field
- Overseas work or travel experience, particularly in emerging markets
