Glass Lead 1st Shift
Full-time Entry LevelJob Overview
- Safety- Must lead by example in this area and always ensure you always have ALL required PPE on, no exceptions
- Start Up- Ensure Schedules are ready for all line leads and distributed to each line on what they will be starting on
- Need to know where each line is on the schedule at all times
- Ensure all Line leads are present and on time
- You will be required to do Meeting w/ the leads on your own on what areas they need to work on and other production related topics. As well as line EE when items come up
- New hires- You will need to be actively involved in making sure new hires are on boarded correctly by ensuring they are teamed up w/ the right person when they start. Also, you will be responsible for checking on them throughout the shift to see if they are doing ok and if they are getting trained properly. On their first day you need to follow with them before they leave to see how their first day was
- Production boards- Need to make sure leads are keeping these updated and when they are not you are addressing it accordingly, HBH #’s kept up
- Remakes: Must ensure that remakes are always being prioritized on the lines and pushed through. If a line isn’t doing that you need to get with the lead and find out why
- Fall Outs- Leads must keep up on their own fall outs throughout the shift an make sure they have complete carts , Carts should not leave their area missing glass ( exception being Tempered or special lites, Decra lite) Must follow up w/ the lead throughout the day to ensure carts are complete and labels are not being left undone
- Down time- Must be proactive on DT and make sure we are smart when we are down what we are doing with the people on the line. Look at options if they go to lunch/ break early. They should all be staying busy cleaning or doing other things
- Production / Throughput- You must be able to help push production to meet their goals in your role as an area lead. When a line is not performing you need to be able to find out why and what is needed to correct the issue. Must be able to problem solve and work on getting the lines back to hitting MPO goals
Requirements:
- Must always demonstrate safety in everything he/she does. Must not cut corners or it can cause you to be demoted
- Must hold the lines accountable to producing high Quality on the line and ensure lines are following all CTQ guidelines.
- Must be able to make decisions on his/her own when Supervisor is not present.
- Must be able to proficiently run all the equipment on the production floor that he/she is Area lead of.
- Must be able to communicate clearly with peers and subordinates daily on items pertaining to the business.
- Must maintain excellent attendance. (Failure to do so will result in demotion)
- Must keep up w/ Communication boars every hour on where the lines are at.
- Must be able to follow directions from his/her supervisor and pass those on to the leads he /she over sees.
- Must be able to read and understand the schedule and what is priority on them.
- Must be able to work O.T and weekends as required for production needs.
- Must have a positive attitude and be able to work with the EE that he/she over sees.
- Must be able to learn all PC system and be able to do End of the shift pass downs in absence of Supervisor.
- If a lead is out you may be required to jump into that role of running the line in their absence.
