Job Overview

About the role

  • Corva is hiring Field Engineers to support our 24/7 drilling and completions operations. This is a remote, field-based role: you will spend roughly 20 days per month on-site at active rigs and frac spreads, delivering hands-on training, installing hardware, and keeping customer data flowing without interruption.
  • Field Engineers are the bridge between our customers in the field and our Operations team. You will solve problems in real time, own the on-site experience, and make sure every rig you visit walks away running Corva better than when you arrived.

Location & Assignment

  • Remote role based in or near an active U.S. drilling basin (Permian, Bakken, DJ, Haynesville, Marcellus/Utica, Eagle Ford, or similar).
  • 100% travel required; location flexibility is a plus.
  • Schedule options: 20 days on / 10 days off, or 10 days on / 5 days off.
  • 12-hour workdays; early morning, evening, and weekend work as operations require.
  • Extended out-of-town assignments of two to three weeks at a time should be expected.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to drilling and completions locations to train customers and service crews on the Corva platform.
  • Install and maintain Corva completions hardware across Frac, Wireline, Pumpdown, and Coiled Tubing operations.
  • Troubleshoot data flow, sensor, and connectivity issues on-site and escalate cleanly when needed.
  • Provide on-call field support for data-related issues to keep operations uninterrupted.
  • Maintain accurate field visit records, inventory counts, and installation documentation.
  • Coordinate with service companies, third-party vendors, and Corva's Operations team in Houston to resolve issues quickly.
  • Identify recurring field issues and feed them back to Product, Engineering, and Support to improve the platform.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the team and customer operations.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years in drilling or completions operations.
  • 3–5 years as an Electronics Technician or Field Engineer at a frac or drilling service company.
  • Working knowledge of electronic drilling recorder (EDR) systems and completions data acquisition.
  • Proven ability to diagnose data anomalies and resolve field issues independently.
  • Strong communication skills; able to train customers and collaborate with service crews on location.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Electronics or a related technical field.
  • Hands-on experience with real-time drilling and completions operations.
  • Familiarity with frac van software packages and common oilfield service workflows.
  • Current Safeland and H2S certifications.
  • Working knowledge of HSE protocols specific to oil and gas.

What We Provide

  • Company-supplied work truck.
  • Lodging, meals, and fuel reimbursement while on duty.
  • All required field equipment and Corva hardware.
  • Direct line into Corva's Operations, Engineering, and Product teams — your field insights shape the platform.

Who Thrives Here

  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable owning outcomes without daily oversight.
  • Performs under pressure and adapts quickly when plans change on location.
  • Communicates clearly with both field crews and office teams.
  • Looks for ways to improve the work, not just complete it.

Corva is an equal opportunity employer.
