Job Summary

Craft and Technical Solutions has partnered with a leading manufacturing company in Huntsville, AL, to hire an experienced Tool and Die Maker. This role is critical in maintaining, repairing, and fabricating high-precision metalworking dies, cutting tools, and fixtures. The ideal candidate thrives in a hands-on environment, enjoys problem-solving, and has a strong understanding of die construction and press operations.

Duties

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Progressive, Blank, and Transfer Dies.
• Machine, grind, and fit punches and die details.
• Disassemble dies, inspect, weld, repair, grind, and fit components.
• Repair damaged details, sharpen, align, and time dies while in press.
• Occasionally adjust die set-ups, pilot releases, timing, and feed mechanisms.
• Apply knowledge of various steels, coatings, and materials.
• Maintain compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Keep work areas organized and practice 

Requirements

Qualifications

• Proven experience with complex drawings, diagrams, and die construction.
• Skilled in building and repairing progressive and transfer dies.
• Ability to solve practical problems and work with limited standardization.
• Flexible to work 1st or 2nd shift with overtime as required.

Preferred: Completion of technical school courses or a four-year apprenticeship.

Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
• Effective communication in one-on-one situations.
• Basic math skills, including ability to apply probability and statistical concepts.

Physical Requirements

• Occasional walking, climbing, balancing, and reaching with hands/arms.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
