Regional Transport Planning Manager

As Regional Planning Manager you will proactively lead and manage the Regional Planning Team, delivering a transport plan that effectively deploys the company’s transport assets across the Tesco contract.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hour week.
This is a regional role that can be based at either Doncaster or Goole site with planning teams across both sites.
Key Duties of Regional Planning Manager:
Deliver a programme of continuous improvement in the transport plan by:
- Regularly reviewing internal and external KPI data.
- Using trend analysis and loss elimination data.
- Developing midterm and seasonal scenarios / resource plans.
- Monitoring daily performance data.
- Ensuring organisation capability is maintained today and into the future (COP 024).
Maintain Customer Service levels by:
- Monitoring key customers daily and weekly making the necessary interventions that deliver key KPIs.
- Liaising with Customer Service contacts internal and external to keep abreast of and manage issues.
- Provide key data to Business Development function that facilitates growth/business acquisition.
Provide leadership guidance and management to the planning teams by:
- Ensuring work processes, that cover the regional needs of the planning teams, are in place and being adhered.
- Maintain overall capability through recruitment and on boarding (COP 131).
- Deliver improved organisation capability through the appraisal system and 1-1 processes. (COP 071).
- Maintain control over Discipline and Grievances (COP 011 & COP 015).
- Maintain control of staffing costs with close focus on manning levels and overtime.
- Liaise with Directors, General Managers, Operations Managers, their direct reports and Employees at all levels within the Group.
- Internal Customer Service Contacts.
- Relevant support functions, HR, Training.
