The Curai Physician is a key member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality, patient-centered, virtual-first primary care to patients across the U.S. This role provides primary care through video visits, live chat, and secure messaging supported by Curai’s advanced AI-powered technology and proprietary EMR.
This is a full-time, remote position which requires high-speed reliable internet access. The schedule is dependent on business needs and will include any combination of days or hours to service a 24/7/365 clinic.
Responsibilities:
- Requires at least 36 patient contact hours per week to provide high quality, empathetic treatment of primary care patients in a virtual care setting (including text based, phone and video visits). Clinical accountabilities include but are not limited to:
- Conduct comprehensive virtual assessments, diagnoses, evidence-based treatment planning for patients across various ages and backgrounds
- Manage and coordinate care for chronic conditions
- Provide preventive care, wellness counseling, and health education to promote holistic well-being.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and lab results.
- Prescribe medications in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Referrals and prior authorizations
- Scheduling and follow-up outreach
- Completion of administrative tasks including but not limited to: :
- Accurate and thorough document tasks and communications in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Completing compliance, CME and licensing tasks in a timely manner
- Maintaining up-to-date clinical knowledge and processes, including EMR platform updates, through meetings, trainings or other means
- Participate in clinical quality and process improvement initiatives
- Meet or exceed established performance standards related to patient satisfaction, encounter documentation, response time, clinical quality metrics and productivity benchmarks as defined by organizational goals
- Serve as a collaborating physician for assigned Nurse Practitioners, providing oversight, chart review, care consultation and mentorship consistent with applicable state laws and internal collaboration agreements, including video visits as needed.
- Maintains compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards
- Other duties as assigned
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine and board certification required; Family Medicine strongly preferred
- 5+ years of practice experience, post-residency training required; telehealth experience strongly preferred
- Strong preference for candidates eligible for expedited licensure via the Interstate Medical Licenses in 5 additional states
- Has one of the following licences: CA, TX, FL + 5 additional licences
- Willingness to obtain additional state licenses required
- Ability to work weekends and assigned holidays as part of the regular schedule required
- Understanding of regulatory and documentation requirements related to physician collaboration and supervision of Advanced Practice Providers
- Ability to work independently while handling high-volume patient interactions utilizing video and chat capabilities
- Proficient in navigating various telehealth platforms and EMR systems and adaptable to evolving technology, including AI-driven tools and digital platforms
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage time effectively in a remote work environment, with reliable high-speed internet access
- Excellent communication, clinical judgment, and patient engagement skills
- Willingness to be part of a group medical practice
