Senior Director, Wholesale Business Development

Job Overview

As a Senior Director of Wholesale Business Development, you will drive revenue growth by identifying, developing, and closing new and expanded business opportunities in wholesale energy markets. Leveraging your deep industry expertise, you will lead the sale of CES’s integrated Asset Management and Generation Solutions to generation owners, independent power producers (IPPs), and utilities.

In this role, you will help clients optimize asset performance through services including portfolio management, real-time operational optimization, and market participation across major U.S. ISOs and global markets. You will build strategic relationships with senior decision-makers while developing opportunities that maximize client performance, revenue potential, and risk management.

Reporting to the VP of Sales and Marketing, you will play a key role in expanding CES’s wholesale market presence by cultivating new client relationships, growing existing accounts, and consistently achieving ambitious revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Prospect and qualify leads among generation owners, IPPs, and resource off takers needing comprehensive Asset Management and Generation Solutions in wholesale markets.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies for CES wholesale offerings, including full Asset Management contracts, congestion management services, monitoring and telemetry services, and optimization services using the CES’ GridBOOST software.
  • In conjunction with asset management and other staff, conduct client-prospect presentations, compose proposal documents, and lead negotiations to close multi-year $500K+ Asset Management and Generation Solutions deals.
  • Maintain CRM accuracy (e.g., Salesforce) for pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Stay ahead of regulatory changes and market trends via our Market IQ resources.
  • Collaborate with marketing for lead generation, attend industry events (e.g., RE+), and provide feedback on product enhancements.
  • Achieve annual quota in new ARR, with a focus on winning additional managed assets and long-term client partnerships.
