Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts, including software licensing agreements, corporate and finance agreements, marketing agreements, and other third-party vendor contracts.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and monitor relevant legislative and regulatory developments to ensure ongoing compliance and safeguard the company’s interests.
- Provide clear, business-oriented legal advice on contractual and regulatory matters, translating complex legal concepts into practical guidance for internal stakeholders in a fast-paced gaming environment.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks while advising cross-functional teams on effective risk-reduction strategies.
- Handle ad-hoc legal matters across the business, including issues related to employment law, data protection, and intellectual property.
- Ensure the company complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Support the Director of Legal on broader legal initiatives, including enhancing contract management processes and tools.
- Collaborate seamlessly with internal teams to deliver timely and effective solutions.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience as a practicing lawyer, with at least 3 years specifically within the gaming sector.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in Intellectual Property (IP) law, particularly concerning software, content, and branding.
- Extensive understanding of the Dutch legal system, with demonstrable expertise in Dutch employment law.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and legal advisory skills.
- Strong command of both written and spoken Dutch and English.
