Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Topside Lead Structural Engineer to support a high-profile project involving the fabrication of a topside for an offshore electrical substation. The engineering studies will be subcontracted, and we require a senior professional to supervise, review, and coordinate these activities directly on-site in Cádiz.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate subcontracted structural engineering studies, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely delivery.
- Serve as the main interface between the client and subcontractors, facilitating efficient communication and issue resolution.
- Review, validate, and approve structural calculations, drawings, and design reports in line with project requirements and industry standards.
- Provide advanced expertise in offshore structural analysis, particularly topsides and jackets.
- Perform and oversee jacket analyses (temporary and in-service phases) using SACS software.
- Apply finite element analysis (FEA) to verify, optimize, and secure robust designs.
Requirements
10–15 years of experience in offshore structural engineering, including topsides and jackets.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural Engineering (or related field).
Proven expertise in SACS software (mandatory).
Strong knowledge of FEA methods and offshore structural design principles.
Familiarity with geotechnical bases and offshore foundation design.
Recommended experience in German waters with BSH requirements.
Ability to design and verify in accordance with relevant codes and standards: DIN 18088, EuroCode, DNVGL, ISO.
Skilled in both performing detailed calculations and producing high-quality engineering reports.
Strong organizational and communication skills to effectively manage client–subcontractor relationships.
Fluency in English is required; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
