Accounts Manager
Job Overview
Our client is currently seeking to recruit a fully qualified Accountant to join their Senior Management team and lead the Accounts Department. This role is suited to a highly organised and motivated professional who is ready to take the next step in their career. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of four years’ experience within a similar firm.
The selected candidate will work alongside other managers and will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, as well as overseeing the accounting team. A strong command of both written and spoken English is essential, while knowledge of Italian will be considered an asset.
Qualifications
A degree from the University of Malta (Honours or Masters in Accountancy) or an ACCA qualification
A valid warrant to practice Accountancy in Malta
A recognised qualification in Maltese VAT from an established professional institution in Malta
Key Responsibilities
Managing a team of 6 to 8 employees
Ensuring compliance with accounting policies
Interacting with directors, staff, and clients
Supervising staff on a daily basis
Providing VAT advice to clients when required
Liaising with auditors
Reviewing work carried out by team members
Planning workloads to meet deadlines
Collaborating with other departments within the firm

Their service offering includes accountancy and bookkeeping, VAT and tax compliance, company formation, and a range of corporate services. The company is a Corporate Service Provider authorised by the MFSA.
The Accounts Department focuses on delivering accounting and VAT compliance services to corporate clients, including the preparation of management accounts, VAT returns, and statutory submissions.
The firm operates an office in Victoria, Gozo, allowing Gozo-based employees the option to work from that location. Additionally, employees may benefit from remote working arrangements on agreed dates.
