About the Team
The Secure Infrastructure Services is embedded within the Life Sciences Product & Engineering team. This product platform group is critical to ensuring our customers are met where they are by managing the deployments of both on-prem and SaaS versions of our software, as well as maintaining the high levels of security certification required for our government work. The Secure Infrastructure Services team is focused on ensuring our product implementations can be cloud agnostic, meet the highest security standards, and have an integrated strategy with our business goals and customer-facing applications. This team also interfaces with the larger Platform Engineering team and Security and Compliance teams at Datavant.
About the Role
This role will be a technical product partner for the Secure Infrastructure Services team. This team is responsible for building many of our back end services, integrating with our cloud providers, and broader technical infrastructure reliability and scalability.
In this role you will:
- Set the vision by partnering with engineering leaders to understand our technology strategy and goals.
- Serve as a technical program manager, driving stakeholder alignment , cross-functional coordination, and technical requirements gathering and implementations.
- Oversee deployments of on-prem software and multi-region environments, ensuring reliable CI/CD and delivery, configuration, and successful implementation across environments. You partner with the right cross-functional folks on Security and Compliance to ensure our processes are aligned with internal and external compliance requirements.
- Act as liaison between Engineering and Security/Compliance teams, ensuring alignment and adherence to FedRAMP, HIPAA, GDPR, HITRUST, ISO27001 and other requirements where applicable.
- Be an advocate for secure data handling and practices, ensuring that at every step of the way we are safeguarding patient data across systems and environments.
- Be customer centric by obsessing about solving our customers problems. Partner with the engineering team to ship functionality that delight our LS and data provider partners, while striking the right balance of impact vs cost, and making a measurable impact on the business.
- Be decisive by identifying current and future areas of ambiguity and providing direction along with reasoning and analysis. Others see you as a source of authority, reinforced by your exceptional judgment on a range of issues, including business, technical and organizational and an ability to articulate your perspective effectively.
- Write great product requirements that provide clarity and motivation for what we need to build. You will be noted for your ability to generate workable solutions, avoid potholes, take good ideas from wherever they come, all anchored by a complete understanding of the systems your product touches and the ways in which they are used in practice. As part of the requirement development process, you know how to relentlessly dig through ambiguity to refine imprecise or unknown requirements, and lead group discussions to get you there.
- Drive adoption by working closely with engineering teams across the entire organization. You will add value to this process by removing objections, roadblocks, and identifying.
- Be a leader through example and attitude.
- Operate like an owner with a “no job is too small” attitude, doing what is needed to make your product, your team, and Datavant a success.
About You
- You have 5+ years in a product management, product strategy, or engineering ideally working in a healthcare (or a similar industry) where security / compliance play a major role in how things get designed & developed
- You are highly technical and comfortable diving into code to troubleshoot issues, assess engineering progress, and identify gaps. You have experience with containerization (Kubernetes, Helm, Argo CD), infrastructure as code (Terraform), and GitOps. You partner hand-in-hand with Engineering, contributing to architectural discussions and design decisions.
- You have experience working across diverse teams and stakeholders and thrive in highly cross-functional environments.
- You are a systems thinker. You can identify the key leverage points for creating change and improvement, understanding the potential impacts of your decisions across the entire system. You are comfortable working with complexity and can identify and manage feedback loops.
- You are comfortable with ambiguity - diving into a project with little details doesn’t scare you.
- You are highly organized and have strong project management skills: others are confident in a project’s outcome when they know you’re owning it.
- You have high bandwidth and high productivity: others wonder where you find time to do all you do. Your secret is that you are quick to understand, formulate and respond.
- You write exceptional documents, presentations, diagrams, and mockups. Your documentation leads to discussions about the content, not about what is intended.
- You are a great communicator and have the confidence to lead planning meetings with anyone or any group within the company. You have the ability to explain strategies, rationales and products in terms that each audience can understand.
- You work hard. You are at your best working at full speed, and you love what you do.
- You are motivated by getting stuff done. You are wired to both set the big vision and to make continual steps towards that vision. Neither vision setting nor execution is satisfactory by itself to you - you want both.
- You are a team player. You always put yourself in other’s positions and understand their motivations, needs, perspectives and potential points of confusion.
- You are proactive. You define how the product should evolve and bias to action.
