We are looking for technically skilled candidates with advanced problem-solving abilities for the position of Systems Administrator. This position is responsible for providing employees with functional, reliable, and cost effective tools to do their jobs. You will ensure the optimal running of all systems while managing access to resources and responding to user needs in a timely manner, serving as a resource and reference point for all Internal IT related queries.
This role has a local focus and global scope, based in the Hyderabad, India office and reporting to the Corporate IT Manager (US- EST).
Key Objectives
Objective #1: Support Customer Growth
- Oversees network to achieve minimal downtime
- Contribute to efficient, accurate and timely completion of IT tickets
- Collaborate with leadership on priorities to advance organizational goals
- Perform daily system administration tasks to verify uptime SLAs are surpassed
- Oversee procurement and administration of inventory as needed
- Oversee local “help desk” support for computer software and hardware
- Investigate current and emerging technologies
- Adhere to compliance policies for effective change management
Objective #2: Eliminate Escalations
- Use monitoring to be the first to know about issues…and take action
- Lead contributions to a shared script repository for driving expected outcomes at scale
- Oversee department resource library for effective knowledge sharing
- Oversee creation and upkeep of self-service troubleshooting resources
- Lead calls for support projects, initiatives, and incident response as needed
- Oversee after-hours maintenance and critical coverage shifts
- Oversee and perform all user and identity management following the principle of least privilege
- Research industry trends and security best practices to ensure data integrity
Objective #3: Increase Business Profitability
- Coordinate with Compliance Team on technology and actions to protect employees from work disruption
- Gather, report, and take action on department data to implement process improvement
- Reduce re-work and Mean Time to Recover (MTTR)
- Complete timely shutdown of resources
Specialized Experience
- 4+ years experience deploying and maintaining hardware (servers, laptops, etc)
- 4+ years as a Junior System Administrator (Windows, Linux), Junior DBA, or Junior Network Associate
- 2+ years experience using DevOps tools (Git, Kaseya, Powershell, Bash, Terraform, Docker, etc)
- 1 year experience with underlying technologies (SQL, HTTP, SSL, DNS, Load Balancers, VPN, etc)
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to make decisions under pressure
- Ability to think and communicate effectively with a global team
- Attention to detail with the ability to collect and analyze data systematically
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficient in the English language
- Passion to innovate, fail, and learn new things to delight customers
- Work requires the ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- BSc/BA in Computer Science, IT, or related field preferred
- Experience using Monitoring tools a plus (Grafana, Data Dog, Dotnet Counters)
- Experience deploying and maintaining cloud solutions a plus (AWS, Azure)
- Experience contributing to security and privacy audits a plus (PCI/DSS, SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO27001, etc)
