Job Overview

The Technology Engineer will focus on the network and connectivity layer of a Non-VMware private cloud platform within the FCI Service Family, based on SUSE and KVM virtualization. The role is primarily responsible as engineering support  for Software-Defined Networking (SDN) capabilities, enabling secure multi-tenant communication, segmentation, and integration with enterprise network standards. The engineer will ensure that network architecture, routing, and security controls are properly implemented across the private cloud stack and integrated with compute and storage component

Key responsibilities

  • Design and implement a SUSE-based virtualization platform using KVM as the hypervisor
  • Define standard VM blueprints (CPU, RAM, storage, network) for SAP and non-SAP workloads.
  • Implement Software-Defined Networking (SDN, OpenNebular) for flexible tenant isolation, micro-segmentation, and multi-tenant support.
  • Define security zones, firewall rules, and routing patterns aligned with SAP and enterprise requirements.
  • Development of high level and low level documents for the respective area (Compute, Storage, Network, Container, Orchestration)
  • Integration of new platform components into the existing integration points / standard technologies (such as AdminLan, etc.)
  • Enable request, change, and incident workflows that trigger automation (Terraform/Ansible) and update CMDB where needed.
  • Maintain a living architecture document covering all layers: compute, storage, network, automation, observability, integrations.
  • Open Source software define network knowledge (preferably Nebula or any other)
